Haunted unplugged pulls the panic off the stage into a whisper at your ear. The dread's still there, just closer, like someone gripping your sleeve to keep you.

I actually prefer this one. The original is theatre; this is a confidence — same not-wanting-to-let-go, less spectacle, more real fear.
