Interpretation

This is Lover's barest scene: it isn't about someone else, it's "my own arrow pointed at myself." That self-doubt is a tide — the quieter it gets, the more it drowns. Don't you sometimes at 3 a.m. replay every step you got wrong?

It twists "afraid of being left" and "afraid of getting close" into one string. Taylor rarely lays her fragility out this bare, no decoration, no excuse. Listening feels like someone gently holding your shoulder: I see those texts you sent just to be sure.
