Lover

This one writes the plainest footnote to the word "lover": not fireworks, but "I choose you even when the world falls apart." The piano comes in and the room goes quiet, like two people with the lights off and only the window glow. Haven't you wanted to hand someone a simple "it's you, no matter what"?

It's the album's thesis and it's not loud at all. Taylor writes commitment like breathing — no conditions, no theater. The most moving part is that it admits love is ordinary, and that's exactly why it survives the days.
