Interpretation
This coldly strips the romance off an affair: as thrilling as it starts, as empty it ends. Haven't you seen (or been in) a "just one kiss in the parking lot" stolen love — exciting, but holding nothing?
It writes "secrecy" as a chronic emptiness. Taylor doesn't judge, just describes: the sound of keys dropping louder than the heartbeat. You'll feel stolen things are too light to even hold in memory.
