Interpretation

All Too Well is the album's heart and her most brutal 'detail kill.' A red scarf, an autumn, a car driven too fast — she doesn't cry out, just lays the small things down and you hurt yourself.

My nose stings every time. Its power: the relationship ended, yet memory outlives the person. The scarf became a meme later, but she wrote it carving from the chest. If you hear one Red song, hear this — it tells you the hardest part after a breakup isn't crying, it's remembering too well.
