In 2021 the 'ruin everything and still worth it' courage is still there, but the voice carries a new ease — 'now I get to decide how this is sung.' Red TV is her pulling the whole album up by the roots and replanting it under her own name; this opener is like getting the keys back.

I love that 'old song, new ownership' confidence: same words, real author's signature. The soaring feels like it works for no one now — it flies because it wants to.
