Interpretation
The confusion here is grown-up: a perfectly good relationship, and it just ended. Taylor doesn't blame anyone or force a meaning; she stays stuck in "I don't get it," and that honesty — letting herself not understand — is worth more than a tidy resolution.
It's a footnote for every breakup with no reason: sometimes no one did anything wrong, the heart was fine, and the person still left. At sixteen she already dared to write "no answer" as the answer, which isn't childish at all.
